It was bullying that led me to become obsessed with skin, and to want to help so many people whose self-esteem is diminished for the same reason.

It's amazing how much impact words (from others) have and how they affect us, especially during adolescence.

I still find the urge to offend and belittle others repulsive. But 20 years ago, I found it even less amusing to have to think every night about whether I should apply lemon juice or toothpaste to my forehead to solve my acne problems and stop my classmates' teasing.

Things were getting worse every day, and my shy face, covered by a huge fringe, was the perfect target at recess.

Does the brand Clerasil ring a bell?

It was also my nickname when I was 13.

The despair of seeing yourself alone leads you to think about things that could not have been changed.

Then I started looking for solutions.

997 creams, 1 medicine, a healer, and a facial hygiene.

—But hold on, Helena! What's your real problem? Bullying? Acne?—

A crucial moment when I understood that a problem doesn't have the same name if it has a solution, and if it doesn't, there's no remedy.

But I knew I would find him, that I would eventually know how and where. Because if I thought about when, I would start to cry.

My first beauty salon

I loved walking into that first beauty salon. You can't imagine how much faith I had in those professionals.

After that, my pimples started to look more like the red dots you see on Google Maps. 😂

But as I said, I had a lot of faith. If they didn't fix it there, I'd be a pimp forever. But it was more of the same. Hope was fading.

Cystic and inflammatory acne at an early age, and the scars it can leave on the face, can affect a person's confidence for life.

So now, I'm going to see a psychologist. Not too bad!

From nickname to vocation

That nickname, which caused so much suffering, was transformed into a goal that came true 17 years later.

The psychologist sessions became less frequent thanks to a lot of hard work on my part, and each time I felt my goal getting closer.

You know when you buy a car, and the next day you see it everywhere?

That used to happen to me, it's called FOCUS. And that's what made me want to dedicate myself to personal skin care.

From a distance, I think, I've had the "pleasure" of living this story, my own, because otherwise I wouldn't be here today, doing what I do. Between training professionals and my medical-aesthetic clinic. Helping people improve the appearance of their skin so they feel better.

Today my mirror doesn't reflect a face, but a person. Just like yours.

When you change the way you see your world, your world changes.

And that's it, a part of me that knew how to turn a weakness into a strength to decide what I wanted to be when I grew up. ❤️

And I'm going for it all.
